Navratri celebrated in different states of India

In West Bengal, Navratri is celebrated as Durga Puja with much spectacle and gleam. Starting from the sixth day till the tenth the state looks exceptionally beautiful in intense and lively colors as Maa Durga comes down from the paradise to visit her motherly abode on earth. Her arrival is welcomed by the people with warm feelings and departure is crushing as she departs only to revisit the next year. Beautiful pandals are erected and Mother Durga and her two sons Katrika along with Ganesh and Goddess Laksmi and Saraswati are carved in different shapes before the celebratory season commences. In Jammu, Devi temple in Jammu sees an enormous support as there are surge of devotees on the nineth day of  Navratri. Thousands of devotees arrive in Katra, the campsite and from there they move to Vaishno Devi holy place. A pilgrimage to Vaishno Devi is judge to be the most favorable. In Tamil Nadu, the Dravidian state provides a sacred stroke to the celebrations by bestowing the nine unusual nights to Mother Goddess Durga, Goddess Lakshmi along with Goddess Saraswati. In this occasion, women belonging to the Iyer community invite married women to their residences in the evening time and present them with accessories such as bangles, earrings and other sorts of items that represent their nuptial status. They pray for their husband’s long lives. In Andhra Pradesh, particularly in Telangana area Batukamma Panduga` is celebrated during Navratri. Batukamma Panduga` signifies “Come Alive Mother Goddess” and is celebrated in an exceptional manner where women prepare a stunning flower hoard arranged with cyclic flora in seven layers. This festival is related to rejoicing of universal motherliness. Besides, festival is celebrated in Punjab, Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh and other states of India.
Thus the festival marks the importance of good over the evil. It is celebrated with pomp and inspiring for all the Hindus all over India. The nine nighttime of Navratri stand for the nine nights of the combat amid Deity Durga and Mahishasura.  The festival of Navratri concludes in Mahanavami. On this day young girls on behalf of the nine figure of Goddess Durga are adored.
